Dr. Jeff Stephenson is the Vice President of Equity and Student Services at El Camino College, where he provides strategic leadership across a broad spectrum of student-focused programs and divisions. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Stephenson is deeply committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and student success. At El Camino College, Dr. Stephenson oversees the Student Services Area, which includes the following divisions and departments: Student Life, Student Conduct, Student Equity: Administration of the Student Equity and Achievement Program (SEAP), Counseling and Student Success, Enrollment Services, Special Resource Center, EOPS/CARE/CalWORKs, Financial Aid, Admissions and Records, International Students, and Student Health Services, Veterans Center, and Outreach and School Relations.

Dr. Stephenson also led several major initiatives and programs, including Guided Pathways, which streamlines academic and career planning for students; federal grants, such as Title III and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Insitution (AANAPISI), supporting institutional development and underserved student populations; FamilyU, a national initiative supporting student parents (El Camino is one of only two California colleges selected); and the CCC LGBTQIA+ Summit, where he serves as fiscal lead for statewide equity efforts.

Dr. Stephenson previously served in multiple leadership roles at American River College and began his academic career as a faculty member in mortuary science. He holds associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in mortuary science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, a master’s degree in education from Western Illinois University, and a doctorate in leadership for higher education from Capella University.
