Dr. Katie Brohawn

Dr. Katie Brohawn has been conducting research and evaluation in the education space for over two decades. At The RP Group, she is responsible for helping to oversee the operations of the organization’s research and evaluation projects including project development, intake, coordination, and management and for securing funding from private foundations and government agencies.

Before joining The RP Group, Katie served as Vice President of Research for ExpandED Schools, a nonprofit intermediary in New York City dedicated to closing the opportunity gap that is so persistent in our country. She conducted internal research for all ExpandED initiatives and oversaw external evaluations of ExpandED innovations, including two randomized control trials funded by the US Department of Education.

Katie also previously served as Director of Research and Evaluation in the New York City Department of Education’s Research and Policy Support Group, where she worked closely with the Institutional Research and Policy offices at the City University of New York to jointly answer targeted policy questions focused on the K-20 pipeline. Katie holds a PhD in psychology from Tufts University and a BA in neuroscience from Connecticut College.

Katie lives in the East Bay with her husband, three kids, and dog.
