Ron Gerhard

Ronald P. Gerhard serves as Chancellor of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District (CLPCCD) and is a strategic advisor to The RP Group Board, representing the Chief Executive Officers of the California Community Colleges (CEOCCC). He provides student-focused leadership and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners to advance student success and institutional effectiveness. With more than two decades of administrative experience in California Community Colleges, he is guided by the belief that educational opportunity empowers students, strengthens families, and uplifts communities.

Chancellor Gerhard’s career has included senior leadership roles across several districts, including service as Vice Chancellor for Business Services at CLPCCD, Vice President for Administrative Services at Chabot College, and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at both City College of San Francisco and the Peralta Community College District. He also served as Chief Business Officer at Compton Community College District and began his career at the San Bernardino Community College District. Known for his expertise in financial and enrollment management, governance, accreditation, and advocacy, he has supported multiple colleges in overcoming fiscal and organizational challenges to expand access and improve student success.

At the state level, Chancellor Gerhard has contributed through service on the Chancellor’s Office Advisory Workgroup on Fiscal Affairs, the CEO Funding Policies Taskforce, the Association of Chief Business Officers Board of Directors, and the Student Attendance Accounting and Reporting (StAAR) Committee. He holds an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of California, Riverside, and a BA in accounting from the University of Redlands.
