Extended Opportunity, Programs, and Services (EOPS) Impact Study

Timeline: 2011-2022

A quasi-experimental study compared academic outcomes of a cohort of EOPS students between fall 2004 and fall 2007 at over 90 colleges to a statistically equivalent matched group of non-EOPS students enrolled at the same CCC during that time. Outcomes included:

  • Term-to-Term Persistence: A first-time student in fall who subsequently enrolled in any term in the following calendar year.

  • Attaining Transfer Ready Status within Three Years: Transfer Ready is the completion of 60 transferable units with at least a 2.0 GPA and the successful completion of any transfer-level English and any transfer-level math course by earning grades of A, B, C, P, or CR.

  • Earned a Degree or Certificate within Three Years: Includes only CCCCO-approved degrees. Can be broken out by discipline and award type to ascertain career technical education (CTE) outcomes.
